I finnaly got my @$$ out fishing. This year has been a killer for me but now it's my time. Paid off the sled yesterday and called a buddy. Let's hit the South Fork of the Skagit, so today we met @ the Conway launch and off we went.. OHhhhhhhh what a great feeling in the boat again.. Tide was just rolling out, never been up the South fork so caution was at hand.. Seen one nice fish ? Roll half way to the forks. When we arrived at the fork's there was a bit of boat plunking down the North fork and above, the tribe. They had a net in the middle, we putted up and watched for a bit. They had 2 nice fish from it so we headed down the North fork. Found a place to park and sink some dick nights. Nota fish to be seen. Weather was sweet and the beer was cold. After an hour we headed back to the S/F and floated the damn thing casting Dick Nights. Was a great float just not fish, Then WHAM, fish on. It was bute of a Dolly, our first so low in the river. We catch many up in the top water shed so this was cool. Sorry, no camera. I had a barbless hook so she slid back unharmed.
Great day, no COHO or CHUM.. But, we talked to a dude that said there rolling below. Now if the nets were out.. I will be out till she floods, and a lady at the gas station told me she lives on Kyak beach and there's fish all over there..
