Hit up the Snoho this morning in the high water. Pushing about 10,500 this morning whn I left the house so it was pretty high and muddy, up in the bushes most places. Trolled plugs all day with good success. We hit out first fish instantly in the morning, but due to getting over excited my fishing buddy horsed on it and broke off a real nice chrome hen (and consiquently one of my favorite fatfish plugs). Trolled a while longer before switching up to a K13 Kwiki in Green. About 5 minutes of trolling that and got bit by a real nice little cutthroat. I was going to let it go, but my buddies insisted on keepin' it. Got another hit about 10 minutes later on the same plug but it didn't hook up. Later on my buddy hooked into a real nice 13 lb buck casting and retrieving a Pink brads wiggler. Good fight and a nice fish. Trolled about an hour longer and got a huge takedown from a scrappy little 6lb Hen chromer, put up a good fight and was my friends "first salmon ever". Got her to the boat, trolled a while longer, and called it a day. Overall I had a ton of fun, took out 2 of my good friends, got one of them their first ever salmon (and the "biggest fish they'd ever caught), and enjoyed a nice sunny day. Sent the fillets home with my partners, but stole the eggs from the hen.

Planning to head back out soon.

Awesome report Matt, glad to see some action finally! You're almost making me wish I wasn't leaving for Deer Season! What part of the river were you fishing? Good luck on your next time out, catch some extra ones for me!

We were up in the usual spot Blurock. I am taking off on a similar endeavor next week early on Blurock, happy hunting!! I always love watching someone catch their first salmon.... and catch THE BUG!

I dont know where "the usual spot" is, I assume you were in tidewater? I didnt know Silvers would hit a Kwikfish.

Those are some nice-looking fish - thanks sharing for the report and particularly the pics. My wife always laughs when she sees me looking intently at the computer screen and it always turns out to be a fish pic or a fish video...

Not tidewater, it was up higher. I said "usual spot" because she knows what I'm talkin' about. Coho will hit kwikis, up to K15 I would say. I generally run K11-K13 for them.

That's another good point Matt, I've never tried kwik fish in the snoho. I'll have to throw one on a rod sometime. I'm back from deer hunting Wednesday cause of work. Thinking I'll try to hit the river on Thursday morning and hope there's still some form of a bite.
