Started out at the hatchery in the early AM, one of the first to get there. The rack was out, and apparently that means you can fish it. Or so the guys that were snagging fish in front of the fish ladder said. They limited out on nicce coho in about 45 minutes and then left.

I dunno, Last time I was there there was a sign. I looked in the regs and it says 200 feet upstream of the water intake is the regs. But they took the sign down. Meh, I didn't fish it, and they'd snagged them all by the time I got there.

The water was quite high when I got there. Decent visibility. There were tons of Jacks, which were great fun. I didn't keep any on account of I didn't want to use my limit on two little fish. I hooked a nice size silver, I guess about ten pounds, fairly bright. Lots of red fish rolling around too. I was walking to the bank and the fish rolled over the my line when I was trying to edge to somewhere I could bank 'im, and the hook came out his mouth and stuck in his dorsal fin. On account of I didn't want a ticket I let him be free again to spread the species. I've got a freezer full of fish.

Had a few bumps, but I took a break for lunch and to take some photos up on the mountain. Was gonna hike up into Lake Isabel but the parking spot says that it's closed? Does anybody know anything about that? By the time I got back to the river it was about three feet lower and everybody had frightened the fish off into lock-jaw land. Not even the Jacks were biting. Fished for another hour and then called it quits. The river will most likely be back to normal tommorow, it rises and falls REALLY fast, it was really neat.

Are you talking about reiter pit? If so it is closed there making it into a smaller orv camping park. I feel there going to charge to use it when its done. Then that will leave one place to ride bikes and quads. Thanks for the report sounds like a fun day.

Lots of jacks probably bodes well for next year. By snagging, do you mean they were keeping fish snagged below the legal area??? Bummer if so. Keep an eye on the ones actively keeping illegally snagged fish. If U see them out often, don't be afraid to let enforcement know right away if they show up. I believe it is a big fine for snagging and possibly a suspension of license for 2 years too so it'd remove them for a little while or at least put them at even greater risk if they get caught again ;-) That is one benefit to fishing areas that are regularly patrolled by enforcement. By snagging fish I mean sight casting and hooking the fish anywhere, like in the back or tail and then keeping them as part of their limit. I was disappointed, because I wanted to fish there but rascals were ruining it for me. I can't break the law, it goes against my principles regardless of if I get caught or not.

Reiter is done you guys, DONE. There working on opening a place on top the DNR has or a 1000 acres is all.. You can walk from the road up to Isabel but not park in the lot, JOKE CITY. Anyways you guys see people pouching you need to call the man, don't let them get away with it..
