Fished the confluence hole on the Snoho today from the confluece down about 1 mile south of the highway and everything in between. Launched at about 630am We started off the day back trolling plugs with nothing to show for it. From there we tried just about everything, back bouncing, side drifting, dick nites, bait, bait divers, floats, spinners, spoons, jigs, you name it we threw it at them.... anchored, trolling, more anchor, more trolling, drifting..... NADA. Early on we didn't see much fish action on the surface, although we saw 2 fish landed in pretty quick succession right up near the confluence. Ran down river a ways and got into a pretty good concentration of fish, my buddy hooked one plunking eggs and a spin n glo but it came unbottoned after about 2 headshakes. Caught 1 little chinook smolt and a nasty little squafish and that was all. Saw to "ladies" on shore throwing some pikeminnows onto a string (EWWWWWW!!!), lol. When we pulled the boat out at around 2:30pm we talked to one other boat who had landed 3 fish.... lucky them.... lol (apparently we sucked). We saw a lot of boats pulling plugs AGAINST the current UPSTREAM, I have never really tried this technique, but the 2 we saw landed were taken this way and the boat that said they had gotten 3 was fishing like that too.... any opinions on this type of trolling?

I know the feeling. Where did you launch ? I have a doug bar pass, Stryker and have'n't been up there in 15 years. Not sure how the chanel runs any more..

We always pulled plugs up river and killed em.. is that what you mean ?? Was up on the Skagit looking around yesterday. Some fish there around the forks but not biting ?? WTH is up with that ??

We launched at Highbridge and motored down. There is a ton of wood in the way as you are leaving the snoqualmie to look out for but other than that its an easy run. Yah, that is what I am talking about. People were pulling plugs against the current (upriver) and they seemed to be catching the majority of the fish. I had to have my motor idled WAY UP to even move against the current so it was not an ideal presentation in my opinion.

Well at least theres a few guys catching fish! That's better than I've both been doing and seeing!
Were the guys pulling plugs upriver using trolling motors or their main motor? I've either got my little electric (which I know wont push me up river) and my main (40hrs Two Stroke) And I can't quiet idle UP STREAM with it. It's just to the point where it seems like it would be too noisy and cause too much commotion to be worth pulling plugs behind... But maybe I'm wrong?
I know last year we pulled plugs both up and down river in my dads sled with his trolling motor and got hits both ways. It seemed like we got most going down though...
