Fished Blackmans for the first time this year. Trolled the shoreline using Black and Olive Wooley Buggers without a single hit. After a couple hours, anchored on the south end of the lake and still fished using Rainbow or Orange Power Bait. Within 5 minutes hooked and boated my first (and only) fish... a nice chunky 13 incher. After missing a few hits, tied into around a 5 pound Triploid, what FUN that was :o)! Took every bit of play out of my ultra lite and after several minutes of a tug of war got it along side my boat, and having forgot to grab my net that morning, you guessed it, popped my 2 pound test leader, but having one of those critters on was more than worth it! Two guys flyfishing near me had one on about every 5 minutes most of the time and were mostly up to 10 inchers with a few in the 14 to 16 inch range. Had a blast just watching them!
Will deffinately be back to this lake more this year!
