start off by say'n.....there IS NOT a "seceret river" like there is for lakes....

got there shortly after it was light enough to tie knots....public area was packed so i went for the pay per view area instead....got there 'n a bunch of guys were floss'n where i wanted to fish so i wandered up river found a nice seam 'n a big rock to stand on....
so be'n how i am....i dont go with a oz of lead and 6ft leader...i put on a slip bobber and eggs
with a lil thingamajig above the hook(removed from leaders before pics LOL) so that there's something for them to see when the clusters fade...and on about 3rd cast...
1 BITE = 1 in the box...bout the 6th cast...1 BITE = abouta 30 pound boot C&R'd eww...
4 or 5 more casts...1 BITE = # 2 in the box.....so by this time (maybe 8:30) i've had 4 phone calls bug'n me and i "should" go but...i want that 3rd fish baddd...a limit 1st day river fish'n...
so 1/2 doz more casts and im into another boot...jump'n and act'n the fool 'n he gets off...damn commy barbless hooks...so i call it good
so you can see in the pics fish wernt brite but not bad,meat was red 'n firm enough to fillet,and they're in the brine ...and in the other you can see where they were hooked
i wont give you the flavor of the day butttt...seems these fish have someting against Italian food..

Nice to see someone can catch salmon without snagging, ugh, I mean flossing. I have a great respect for a fisherman who can get the job done without such iffy practices such as flossing. If that's the only way people can catch fish they should stay home and leave the parking to ethical fishermen! GREAT report, hope your smoked fish turns out great! Bob R

Is the thingamajig pipe cleaner? I've seen it used in several different interesting ways drift fishing. Makes for a simple lively egg pattern too (can do multicolored egg pattern FAST LOL). Also helps weight down a hook a bit when fishing slow water with bait(cured eggs) under a slip bobber like what you were apparently doing and provides some extra color. Usually about 1 inch long and actually wrap it on the hook around yarn area or just above eggs. If this is a secret then don't reply LOL. You probably had something else going though so I mentioned the pipe cleaner. Thanx for the pics.
