After a short afternoon rest from fishing Eloika in the morning, the Bear took me to one of his favorite smallmouth bass shore fishing spots on the Pend Orielle River. The spot featured a rocky shoreline along a deep drop off, with a nearby point, and minnows all around. We caught and released a bunch of 10-12 inch smallmouth bass as we worked our way along the bank. When we got to the point, we got bit on almost every cast. We worked a variety of plastics, mostly worms. This was the first time I've ever been fishing with smallmouth bass as the target fish, so I learned a lot. We didn't get any big one's, but what fighters for their size! A fun late afternoon/evening of fishing...I am so glad I am getting bit after travelling so far. Thanks again Bear.
