ok, so once again i tackeld the upper green out by kanaskat palmer state park, started at my favorite hole. fished it for about a hour, caught two rambows, one was 13" and the second was about 10", c&r, so me and my girlfriend decided we wanted to hike down river a ways and see if there was any holes farther down, well to our suprise we found a really nice hole, so we kind of set up camp for a bit and just fished this hole. within 10 min i hooked a small cuttthroat about 10", man those things can put up a fight, then landed a 14" rambow. it got slow for a lil while, then i decided to drift eggs, did that for about 20 min and to my suprise i got a hit bigger than any thing i expected, set the hook, and the fight was on, this fish pulled quite a bit of line off my drag, ended up fighting this fish for about 10min, so awsome, any way i did land it and i was so suprised to see a nice 6 lb chinook on my hook, way early for kings right, i have never caught a king before so i felt like it was x-mas early or something, no steel but i gave this post a five because it was a great day of fishing, caught 5 fish one of witch was a king, awsome day

Thats interesting to hear. Some guys swear there is a small run of springers on the Green. Sounds like you nailed one of them. I would consider that a very rare catch, good job. I went down to the Kent area today, fished about an hour w/o a bite. I knew I should have brought the eggs

Years ago the WDF tried to create a early Chinook run in the Green River. They were able to aquire some Rivers Inlet (Canadian area) eggs and attempted to crossbreed them with a local strain of early Chinook. It was not very successful...but maybe these fish are a result of that experiment. Just a reminate of that experiment!
