Went out on wed to do a little Pike fishing on the PO river with a friend. I tried all kinds of baits for Pike, big swimbait, inline spinners, plugs, jerkbaits, even top water. We didnt get any pike at all had one small fish hit a huskyjerk but it missed. What we did get was some nice Smallmouth bass and a few nice L.M also, Put in at oldtown launch, which is a real pain with the 15knot current there, we fished a couple different slews and rock walls got a few fish everywhere we fished.
I got the biggest one, a 3+ lb. smallie on a spinnerbait as most of the bigger fish we got were caught on spinners Also got some good fish on tubes. Not bad for a kinda rainy day. Sorry didnt take any pixs and we didn't get any toads. Still looking for that 50+ in pike i saw a few weeks ago :)
