Was my first sucessful fly fishing trip. started from the WDFW Boat Launch in S Cle Elum area along Hwy 970. Rained on and off but wasn't going to stop me from fishing. Started with nymphs, which i have no clue how to fish it, watched a couple a videos and stuff but thats about all, so catching something would be total luck. the water was a little rough so i waded upstream a bit to a more calmer stretch. was there for about an 1hr so with nothing until i saw fishing jumping for flies.Imediately switched over to my dry selection, which i am a little more familiar with. Matched the flies fluttering about on the surface and next thing you know i get a hit. Being a beginner in the world of fly fishing my reflexes didn't catch on until about the fifth hit i got then i finally hooked one. was the most exciting time ever in my fishing days. i managed to take up and see 5 rainbows, they were small, about 6 - 7 inchs. Now i need to catch something subsurface. Can't wait till my day off again to hit it up.
