Decided to hit the Methow one last time this season, before it closes at the end of the month, and it turned out to be well worth it. My friend and I had been fishing for awhile and decided to try one more spot before we had to call it a day. When we got to the hole there was one other guy fishing a float and jig setup so we came in behind him and started to work down the drift. We talked to the guy for a bit when he had finished fishing and then I kept moving down while my friend decided to put down the rod and take in the scenery. I had just tied on a new fly, and on my third cast right as it started to swing a fish slammed it, jumped out of the water, and peeled off 50 feet of line before I could say fish on. After a good five minute fight I craddled a beautiful 8 pound chrome native metal head, I had my friend snap a picture and then slipped her back into the river to fight another day. What a great way to end the season. You can rest assured I will be heading back here when it opens again this fall. Have fun out there and tight lines!
