went to blue creek area today to try my luck at one of them late steelies or early springers, i had been reading reports saying the fishing was good, at its peak and what have you. i must say this is not true. Alot of boats on the water, guides the whole nine yards, did not see one landed or even a single hookup. i tried globalling for while then when the sun came up drifted jig under a float, tossed a few sand shrimp and some eggs which were given to me and poorly cured, so did not do that too long. Only highlight of the day was attending the seminar at Cabela's about techniques for springers on the columbia and another seminar about summer kings in the sound and the salt. These were very informative, and kind of ironic because i am planning a trip to the columbia this weekend on my buddies sled.
