Went down to the green today in the canyon for one last shot at one more steelhead before it closed, but that was not too be. my grandpa lost a nice one over ten due to a bad jig hook on an old beau mac. then as i was swinging a rvrfshr spoon something strange happened. i had a hit!! my first steelhead on a spoon! or so I thought. as it neared the shore i was able to see it was not too big and it was a native, i figured it was just a small steely but when i got it to the bank i could not believe it, it was about a 20 inch dolly varden! it was my first dolly ever and on the green too!!. so no steel but i think the dolly was even better and it was a good way to end the year

Dollies are fun. They put up a good little fight, just make sure you're on a river you can actually keep them from. Gotta check the regs.

Lets see some pics of the dolly! Otherwise I find it hard to believe. I've fished this river my whole life and never caught a dolly.
