I thought I would go down by hwy 18 and see if I could catch at least one fish on New Years Day. Not too many people out, about 4 or 5. Went down to the big log jam just upstream from there and within about 15 min. I got snagged....., on a 24" steele baby! What a to bring the new year, heh? hey Brian, I finally got one!

Hey, I was there yesterday (Saturday) trying for my first steely, and just like you, I thought I was snagged, but then the snag started doing acrobatics like a dolphin and running all over the place. Now I see what all the fuss about steelheading is about. This guy was 34 inches long and beautiful. He went for a red beaded, green yarned, barbless octopus hook tipped with a nightcrawler.
