12/29/2009 3:32:00 PMgood job letting it go, hatch or native, but sometimes when you take them out of the water too long they will die, catch enough of them and youll be able to eyeball the size, remember 1 hen can produce dozens of babies, some of these guys that say "oh I would of killed it "are the same folks who have to throw away fish out of the freezer because it is too old, keep catching and releasing and the fish gods will be good to you.

I say maybe you have your scale in your pocket, and it's a quick boom/boom weigh.... Nobody can say that you went hunting through your gear looking for a scale. I don't know that I will be able to release my first hatchery steelie when it comes. Your rewards will come back to you.

12/30/2009 10:45:00 AMshe was a hatchery and she was out of the water for about a minute then i let her back in and she swam right away no blood it was a pretty clean catch.yeah i was pretty stoked didnt keep it cause i didnt have a bag to put it in, definitely didnt wanna clean it in freezing ass water and i know steelies are low in numbers so hopefully my release will help more come back next year
