Got to nisqually river about 630am. I was fishing around the corner across from the military side on mounts rd. I was throwing green glow corks wich seems to be the color in the early morning. Hooked into 2 but lost them. The sun was just coming up when i landed a 8lb chum as shown in the picture. I've been seein people bring in a few here and there but seems to me that its a late run. My chum had fresh sea lice on it so i knew then it must have just came in. The last four days the water must have rised about 4 feet. Theres no shore at all really and your shin deep in the water constantly. Its kinda scary when i had a seal come swooping in at my feet and made me jump out of the water. I advise people to not go in the water if theres seals around lol. But all and all the morning is the time to catch these chum. Throw short cause there in close and green is the color. Good luck.

I have read various fishing reports for the Nisqually River and most refer to the Mounts Road or the Mounts Road Bridge. I have looked at several maps and can't find anywhere where Mounts Road crosses the Nisqually River. Are you fishing North or South of I-5? If South of I-5 are you upstream or downstream of Old Pacific Highway?

Thanks for the report and the info,
Bjorn

If you take the mounts road exit off I-5 you will cross the river before you get to the handicap hole
