So after my FAIL on the Nisqually i thought i might try a river that i have been wanting to get on for a while now. Found a spot somehow, aimless driving i think, and began scoping it out. Found a tree with some tackle on it and said yep i'm in the right spot..lol. No luck there though did see one come parading up the stream nice and chromy. Met a guy and chatted him up and he told me to go on down, so i did and hooked into a FATTY, came out and danced even, fighting him as he went up stream and then slip...hook comes out. Very frustrating. No worries though i am heading back tommorow morning with a vengence. can you park at the Mcmillan Bridge and walk down to the river?

I dont know where the mcmillan bridge is, but i have parked at two different spots just outside of Orting and fished that section of the Carbon. There is tons of shoreline and space available. Is the bridge down near Orting or more up near the hatchery?

Mcmillian bridge is just outside of orting by the bike trail just past the school heading towards sumner. Ive fished here before but now with the rains is it waders only? or is there still shore to fish from?

Make sure you are on the Carbon and not the Puyallup. There is different rules on what to keep. The bridge by the McMillan Industrial park is over the Puyallup. If the river was low you could wade to the mouth of the Carbon which it isn't right now.

Is there still a spot to fish in that area from the shore?
