We got a late start, but managed to get down to the lake by about 9 am. The hike in is not too bad; only about half a mile. However, a word to the wise: This is rattlesnake country. Watch your step! They were out when we went, and they'll probably be out when you go. There aren't a ton, but certainly enough to mention. Having a diamondback attached to your ankle has a way of putting a damper on your fishing trip. To continue, we worked our way around the shore on the right side. [as you come off the trail] We finally made it down to the opposite end where we started throwing rooster tails out at the big boulders underwater. This is the key. It's about 15 minutes of boulder hopping, (at some points difficult) but for your efforts, you will be rewarded with an opportunity at some BIG naturally reproducing browns. To make a long story short, in four hours of fishing, we caught more than our fair share of fish, only keeping one. (a 14", nothing compared to some of them!
.) Now as for the colors, and other specifics on tackle...well if I told you it wouldn't be any fun. But with any persistence and knowledge of fishing, you should at least get some. Tight Lines!!!
