Had about fifteen minutes to try out this hole in the town of Waitsburg. Third cast produced this unfamiliar fish. I was drifting with an egg loop rig and a corky to float it. I am not a born and bread local so I have plenty of gaps in my northwest fishing repitiore. I would appreciate a proper dichotomy of this species. I have heard that the river holds Browns, Stealhead, and the occasional bull and dolly varieties. The local also talk about a bottom feeding species of whitefish and wonder If this is indeed one of them. The scales are kind of large and the head seems a bit narrow and long for any kind of trout that I am familiar with. Any input would be a great help. I am planing on eating it tommorow and would at least know If it will stay down once consumed.
