Started out late, about noon or so, and headed on down to the stilly, 1st time I have ever been there. Ive been avoiding it since the rules state barbless hooks and I havent felt up to that challenge.

Was slow for the first few hours and I lost enought tackle and line I was going to just pack it in, on the way out I spoke to a fella I saw was catching and releasing quite a few,

I re-wound some new 15 pound test line on my rod and setup like he was, dick nite on a 4 foot or so leader. He showed me the zen of the hole. First cast I had one on!! It was an amazing change.

Him and I and others took turns sacraficing lures on the altar of the almighty SNAG that inhabits the holes close to the big rock area. It was a small price to pay for the amount of fun and Excitement I had.

I am sorry I dont remember your name friend, but you made my day. Thanks.

Yeah, size 1 dick nite 50/50 (esp green/white) spoons work extremely well w/ the pinks in the Stilly. The silvers bite pretty well on the spoons, too, but after losing several hooked silvers, I've switched to corky&yarn w/ size 2/0 and sometimes 4/0 hooks. Hmm, I should try setting up a small spoon w/ those larger hooks and see what happens.

yeah don t be scared of the barbless hook.i use them even on rivers that don t require them.its easier to set the hook and especially to pull it out.when i first started using them i was very skeptical but now i love them
