Been on the Stilly all day, and had a WONDERFUL time. First went up to Oso to see the fish spawning. It was really very bittersweet. There were hundreds under the bridge we were on, and many dead and dying salmon along the banks.
Then we went to the mouth of the Stilly and fished for several hours. Fish were jumping all over the place, mostly silvers. They were huge and slapped the water with a big bang, and weren't very far from shore. However, they weren't biting.
Used the whole arsenal - bait, spinners, lures, etc., everything in the tackle box. No bites.
I DID see a guy that caught four humpies and a silver using a pink jig. He was in a boat.
So, hopefully the silvers are on their way.
