My wife and I had her 9 year old brother for the weekend so we decided to make the trip from the Tri Cities up to Mount Vernon and hopefully get the little guy his first salmon. Fishing was great, 14 pinks on on Sunday and 9 on Monday. We only kept 4 of the fish from Monday and got a lot of funny looks from the other fishermen as we were releasing salmon. We fished just up river from where the river forks before it heads out to the sound. We anchored and plunked with 2 oz weight and a mixture of pink spoons. We had out a dick nite's, a humpy special, a needle fish and a mepps spoon. The mepps spoon caught the most with the needle fish close behind it. Over all a great trip.

Because of the nets, we have a lot less fish during the middle of the week and have to pick what we are using. Could you specify what kind of mepps and needle fish (size and color) worked the best?

Needlefish color pattern 0076. Mepps was a syclops spoon 1/8th oz in HP hot pink. These two lures actually outperformed the dick nites and the humpy special that were on the other two rods
