Well I sure can't seem to get me a Pike out of the POR for anything. Last year I tried five or six times and nothing. At least last year I caught a lot of Bass trying. Today I caught one small Smallmouth and that was it.

We launched out of Cusick and fish the sloughs south from there from about 9:00 this morning till 5:00 this afternoon. We tried pitching jerkbaits, spoons, bucktial spinners and even crankbaits. We tried for Perch at the end of the day and couldn't even boat one of them.

Nobody else we talked to was having any luck today. We did talk to a couple of guys that did good yesterday, figures. I don't whant to give up, I just don't know if I can talk my buddie into trying again. All he did after about 10:30 was wish we whent back to the Coville River.

what was the water level like and do you happen to know the water temp? Was it very muddy? I'm planning on heading up there this saturday. Thanks for any info. -Ray

Water level was a little high, the sloughs were full. Yes the water was discolored with approx 3 ft of visibility, the temp was 46 in the current and up to 55 in the sloughs. We did see a few swells from large fish in th shollowest areas of the sloughs. But every time we seen these swells it was as soon as we entered an area. I think we might have been spooking the fish. I thought we were being stealthy using an electric motor on its lowest setting. The other thing was we did see a lot of Ospray and Comerants, that could be a factor I guess.
