My son, Kinghunter and I trekked to Blue Creek. We heard many good stories about how hot the fishing has been, we were very excited when we arrived. We hiked about 3/4 mile down river to the right of the launch. It was tough finding an opening along the bank. My son and I found a nice little spot but the flow of the river was too fast for the gear I had. I did see a guy across from us hook a nice springer, but lost it right when he was landing it. I talked to another guy who said caught one earlier using eggs. We fished this spot for about an hour and decided to try the left from the launch. We were all getting hung up about every other cast and patience was wearing thin. Of all the boats that were drifting, I didn't see any caught or hooked. A nice fella to the right of us finally hooked and landed a nice 8# or so. I couldn't see what he was tossing, but whatever it was it was very small. He did show me his homemade rubber slinky and in the time we were there, I seen him only get hung up a couple times. Overall, I learned a lot, talked to some nice people. I was however disappointed with the amount of litter along the trail. My son, however made my day. When we were leaving, I saw him reach down and pick up a dorito bag. I was shocked because I thought he was going to eat out of it. But, he just told me he couldn't believe people would litter at such a nice place to fish.......He ended up filling an empty bag that he had and filled it with beer cans and trash other people had trouble finding a garbage can...My sons disappointment and mine wasn't from our fishing trip or from the lack of fish, it was from the trash people left behind....

Too bad about the fising, it will pick up soon i am sure. I am sure happy to hear that there are people out there doing thier part to keep our mother nature clean. She did nothing to deserve all the crappy ppl leaving thier litter alll over the place. Those ppl just have not respect for our beautiful wildlife out there. Everytime i see trash like that i can just emagin a squirrel or a bird eating it and dying or getting tangeled up in it. Not to mention most of it does not desolve away for years or even ever. Thanks a lot to ppl like you. Stay safe out there.

Thanks for the kind thoughts and words guys..my son read what you all wrote, and he had a smile on his face knowing he did the right thing and was glad to do his part....
and the neat part of yesterdays trip, he still wanted to have one more cast.....always with him, it is one more dad....
I am making plans now to either head back to Blue Creek or try the Kalama that "ivebenfishin" suggests tomorrow!!
