Started a bit late in the morning about 6 am, such a beautiful clear blue sky day on the water, did not hook up until around 9 am on a slow rapid seam using Bloody Mary plug and back trolling. Was trying to fix the rod holder then WHAM wife's rod got pulled and WHAM ! hook up ! Took about 15 minutes to boat it. Nice native, real shiney and beautiful male, around 13 lbs. No one else we saw got anything for the rest of the drift. Took a bunch of nice pictures then release him back wishing to get more hook up later on ,but nothin after that great one. Was my wife's first steelhead, beginners luck I guess ? Anyways at the bottom of the river close to the ocean openings we found out there are some people blocking the entrance to the river for fish to go up stream and have been throwing rocks all day scaring and turning them fish around back towards the ocean. Shucks ! what a bunch of s---heads !

Wild steelhead are not supposed to be removed from the water unless it is the one a year you get too keep on some rivers. it is a nice fish though, too bad about the people scaring fish into the ocean.

It was probably the damn Indians. I grew up in Forks and fished the hoh all the time. Most of the Hoh Indians are inbred meth heads and it doesnt suprise me that they would try to scare the fish like that. They think they own them since they have Rights to throw nets.....Savages
