I have been fishing lakes for a while now, but grew up fishing creeks and rivers, so I decided to get back to my roots and hit a favorite spot on the Spokane. My wife had friends in town, so I took her friends 8 year old son with me; it was a great way to get in some fishing time this weekend!! Anyhow, the spot is off Aubrey White Parkway, and that's all I can say, lest my fishing buddies disown me. I told him where to cast and on the first one he hooked into a 16" rainbow- and this bad boy had been eating good! Very healthy, lots of fight and vibrant colors. That was his first, and we alternated for about 2 hours with catching fish. He totalled 5 trout, I bagged 3, all in the 14 to 16 inch range. This was after we went to Barker and got skunked with fly rods, so it was an excellent save. Fish were hanging out in the seams between fast and slow water, in about 10 to 12 feet of water. Lots of suckers!! I caught 5 and he got 3, which I don't remember there being so many before, but it's been 2 years since I hit this spot, so maybe they are moving in on it. All fish were released unharmed.
