Warning! Manchester it NOT a good place anymore to leave pots unattended for even a few hours. We had 6 pots soaking at 100-120' overnight on opening day, and the next morning found nothing but 1-2 females in each pot, which raised suspicions. On July 3rd we left 6 pots soaking at 80-120' from 0800-1500, only to discover that our pots were not where originally dropped, ZERO crabs in all the pots (that had just soaked for over 7 hours), and ALL our bait had been removed (including from bait boxes that were zip tied shut). Just to be perfectly clear, there is no way anyone could mistake our buoys for theirs, and the current didn't move the pots. When we pulled into the dock, there were numerous people talking about their pots being tampered with or flat out stolen, and the Sheriff was even called in to investigate. I would be highly cautious about leaving anything for more than 2-3 hours unattended.

Maybe the Sheriffs Dept. was there to give tickets to those leaving pots out overnight (know your regs)!

NOTE: all fishing gear must be removed from the water
by one hour after sunset on the last day of any fishing period.

The Sheriff's don't go out to enforce regs typically, WDFW has Game Wardens who do that. Also, please read what you just cited. "By on hour after the sunset on the LAST DAY of and fishing PERIOD." That means you have to have the pots out of the water by Monday evening since the fishing period is Thursday through Monday, not every individual day. So maybe you should rethink telling others they need "(know your regs)!"...
