So with the opener for steelhead being shut down I decided to go fish in anyways and after the ok from work I made plans to go out on my good friend's boat. Arriving at his house about 5 minutes later then expected we left his house at around 615 toward Everett boat launch. Got out on the water and headed out in search of shiners. Poagies and some may know them by. After locating the mother load and loading up with a few dozen we headed out to posession. After about 15 minutes of fishing possession we both decided it would be better to try an area where he has caught fish in the past. First drop we both land two nice size rockfish within second of bringing feet from the bottom. Release them, rebait, and try again. Bam another rockfish! This continued for a few hours as we located humps along the bottom and would drop their. Within seconds from cranking back up fish on. Had a good hit just for it to wrapped me up on something and never seeing my gear again. Retie and still landing rockfish when finally on of those drops crank up a few and bam fish on. Now this fish has more weight to it as it wants to dive deep. Bring him up and it's a lingcod!! Keeper 27 inches long.

Nice! I got two lines 26' and 31" Sunday in marine area 7. They made some mean fish tacos.

Thanks Jon! It all turned just fine in the end although it would have been a five star day if my partner was able to get one also!

So how much is a few dozen shiner perch for both of you? The limit is 15/person.

I know the limit is 15 per person and a few dozen means two to three in my boo, that was just a generalization as I'm not quite sure how many exactly we had but we made sure to stop short of our limits on shiners. Do you want me be more specific and say we caught more than 20 but less than 30?

One thing guys before trying to police me read my past reports as I am up to speed on my regs and double check everything if I don't know the rules for that species. I take what is allowed and never more. Our ecosystem is ruined enough by others who don't follow rules or bend them to their own benefit so please don't try and categorize me as one of those lowlifes as I value our ecosystems and lives/species that depend on it.

If either of you ever have an open seat for 2 additional people, we'd gladly chip in to go linging in MA 7 or 8-2. Thank you.
