You should probably check the regs though, I believe you are not allowed to take the shells from the beach.

12/28/2015 5:20:00 PMRuffneck you are correct, if I picked the oysters from a PUBLIC BEACH then yes I would be limited to 18 oysters and I would be required to schuck them on the beach. However, I am on a PRIVATE BEACH and the rules don't say I have to schuk them on the beach as well as I don't have a daily limit. Look under private tidelands in the regs.

12/28/2015 9:24:00 PMThe best oysters to be had are from Hoods Canal in the winter! I used to go down to Seabeck every year in December & January, at night, & collect a bunch. We were on private property, & like you indicated, we could bring them home in the shell & without a limit. They were the best oysters I've ever had! I'm envious!!
