I started bright and early at Fort Casey it was dark when I arrived. I had both rods with me today, a herring bobber rod and a rotator rod. Started with the rotator since it was too dark to see what I was doing. Switched to the herring after about 30 minutes and on the second cast bobber down. Set the hook and it felt "fishy". Hooked one of those weird sea ducks. Reeled it in and released it unharmed.
I saw one salmon jump about 200 yards off shore around 10 and another one a bit closer just out of casting range around 1:30. So after about 8 hrs of nothing I called it a day. There were a few other people that came and went and I didnt see any fish landed. Hopefully for those who stayed it was a better bite on the outgoing tide.
