Thanks to Stansjoy's post from yesterday.
I decided to hit the beach this morning instead of the Snohomish. I started fishing around 7 am. After picking thru seaweed every other cast for an hour, I got a hit on a spackleback hoochie and white Buzz bomb setup about 8am. Threw it right back out and bam FISH ON. After a short minute with fish surfacing and arials, The fish spits the hook. Throw it again, and as soon as it hits the water FISH ON, Again. This time there is 2 or 3 seals about 30 yards off shore near to where I hooked up. So I start hauling the fish in before the seals get to it, Fish jumps then slack in line so I'm pissed but not realizing the fish is swimming directly to me or the shore. Then I pick up on the action and reel the slack in as fast as possible, and as soon as the fish is ten feet in from me, he turns and peels line then major slack in line so I start reeling.....GONE nothing left, lost my hoochie, buzz bomb...That sucked....So all I had left in my vest was a couple Buzz Bombs and Pink Hoochie from my Humpie gear... But by now I'm pumped and ready to get right at it. I had so much adrenaline pumping I would have thrown out a worm on a hook....
So I set up the pink Buzz Bomb and Pink Hoochie, threw it out. After about 15 minutes of nothing, I'm getting a little discouraged, questioning if I should go home and get ready for work. Then A hit on the lure but no hook set. So threw it out again, And then BAM "..HANAPA'A..." FISH ON.. After a good fight for a couple minutes, I walk a 4lbs hen to the shore. After marking my catch card and getting my cooler from my car. I 'm back at it. I had several more Hits but no hook sets. One hit came as I was bringing the lure out of the water about 6feet infront of me. I had to call it by 9:00 so I could get to work.
It was an awesome morning. Great Views and weather, Exciting action, and the beach is 5 mins away from my home. I'm fishing tomorrow with the rotator setup, So going to Ted's today.
Good luck out
