Went out to North Beach this morning at Deception Pass. I went out to West Beach the day before and 2nd cast broke my rod tip, which promptly ended my day. Hoping for slightly better luck I arrived around 8am. There were maybe 25-30 people already on the beach fishing. I hoped that was a good sign. Started with a size 2 buzz bomb. In the first hour I saw only 1 fish caught, though I wasn't paying attention to everyone. About 15 minutes later I landed a small hen. Maybe 30 minutes later I got another bump but missed the hook set. After that, that was it for me. No more takes, nothing. Guy next to me caught 1, and a guy a little farther down the beach from me said he hooked into 3 in a 10 minute stretch, but lost them all. Right at noon the beach had pretty much emptied. The current had really picked up and was taking my lure from left to right about 40 yards by the time I got it in, so I decided I was done as well. Not much action. Did periodically see a few jump right out in front of me, but they were few and far between.
