3 buddies and I took my boat out of Mukilteo on Monday to do some more crabbing. We headed south a bit and started dropping our cages at about 60 ft. We spaced out 4 pots between the middle point of where the land starts to curve out to the group of houses next to the train tracks. We goofed around for 2 hours not catching any fish then headed back to the first cage we dropped. There was only one crab hanging on the top, and it wasn't a keeper. The next 3 pots we pulled up had 1 crab each. That was very disappointing, since Thursday 3 of us caught our limits with 2 cages. We decided to drop our cages closer to shore at about 40 ft. While letting them soak I headed up to the launch and dropped two of my buddies who didn't bring sweatshirts. Two of us headed to the cage farthest south. The boat sure moves a lot better with 400+ less pounds! We reached the cage and pulled it up. It was filled with crab! We got 5 keepers and put about 10 more small or females back. The next cage was the same thing. Two limits with two cages. Our 3rd and 4th cages were filled as well, but since only two of us were on the boat we put them all back. It turned out to be another productive trip.
