We launched from Washington Park and started fishing in a hundred feet of water at first light. We had two in the boat by 10:30am using herring and octopus and two bags of chum. We were anchored next to a friend's boat who were also chumming so we had a nice scent going. I landed the 1st which weighed 61lbs and my buddy the 2nd which weighed in at 45lbs. Tried for lings later on but the current wasn't cooperating. Those were both our first halibut. The fish checker said the day was very slow with most around 16lbs.

Very nice! I've caught a lot of nice halibut over the years, but I don't think I ever got that much blood in my boat!

Of all the times I have seen fishermen wearing bib rain gear bottoms while boat fishing in salt water. This is the only time I see where that would be necessary!~
