Launched out of Cornet Bay at 5am. Gorgeous day. Zipped right out to Eastern Bank and proceeded to fish the breaks using herring and salmon bellies on spreader bars. We had three lines out and were drifting in water from 70' to 300'. We had two heavy bites before the current change and then another shortly after, but nothing after. We headed over to Partridge Bank around noon to see how things were going over there. Seemed like it was also going slow from those we spoke to. We fished until 2:30 without any more hits. Not even a dog fish for the day in 8.5 hours of fishing. The WDFW checker at the dock reported 25 fish for 100 boats. Sounds like the odds were stacked against us.

Wish I could! I only get one shot each year though, so this year is another bust for me. Good luck next weekend though.

We're new to this site and looking for others to fish with. I don't have a salt water boat but can chip in reasonably. I'm used to fishing area 8-2 out of Port Susan but would love to fish for lings or halibut farther north. I've heard quite a bit about Penn Cove. Suggestions on where to fish or camp would be cool. Anyone w/a bay boat interested in fishing those areas, just give a jingle =D> ((((((((Fish On)))))))))
