Hit the water today out of Everett and was fishing by 7:30 am. Decided to get out of the fog and away from the bulk of the fleet so we headed to Possession Point. Tried trolling south from the bait box hole in 100 to 300 feet of water. Varied depths from 50 to 90 on the 'riggers. Used Purple haze agitator and white hoochie on one rod, green/gold agitator w/ green splatter back coho killer. Nothin' and only saw 2 fish on.

Decided, well, the fleet was right and I was wrong so back into the fog and trolled the shipping lanes half-way from Mukilteo to the Shipwreck and made a couple of passes. Switched to red/gold flasher on rod w/ green splatter back. Went for another 2 passes. Again, no blood on the deck and only saw two nets up. At this point, the only two spots I know aren't producing so...time to punt.

Got desperate and headed to the rips just south of Double Bluff. I remembered reading about this area a long time back. Tried for about an hour trolling with the tide. I finally gave up and turned the rest of the day into a nice boat trip to Port Townsend for a late lunch.

On Friday we got our last 2 of a 4 fish limit in close, 180-200 FOW Humpy Hollow just off the abandoned house near the R&R track. My bud went out yesterday in his boat and got a 4 fish limit by 10 in the same place. These fish are ripe and ready for the rivers. They are up near to Muk and in a lot closer.

Thanks for the info Barchaser and I am glad you got into them. I didn't try up near Muk though because I didn't know where folks fish there or what tides / depth are best. I thought I might try in close based on what the reports from the guys on the bank were saying but I still thought that meant I should be in > 200 FOW, just not out in the shipping channels. If the weather holds and I get a chance I will try in closer in that area. The fish I saw caught at Poss. Pt. were up on the shelf itself, say <150 FOW and not out deep where they were before. Meh...i guess it's a really good thing I stayed out in the deep water so I didn't have to bother cleaning fish when I got home. Thanks again and tight lines!

I'll be out there on Tuesday. I'm retired so every day is Saturday. Not on Monday though, the marine weather forecast for tomorrow is nasty. I'm mooring at the Everett Marina this year and it sure makes fishing easier, although I'll have lots of stuff to clean off the hull.

Retired must be the life. I took this summer off but I am unfortunately back at work and still have to deal with folks who pay me to be at a desk instead of on my boat. It definitely cuts into my fishing time. At least Everett is part fresh water so it shouldn't be as bad for those pesky hull hitch hikers. It is a great location and where I launch most of the time, I hear the Port of E. is pitching the marina as the largest fresh water one the west coast...but I guess nobody told the barnacles, seals and crabs eh? Not exactly the freshest water I have ever seen ha ha. Good luck out there Tues.
