Fished from the beach just north of Bush Point, west side of Whidbey this morning. Arriived late, probably 10am or so, fished for 2+ hours with buzz bombs and rotators. No bites, didn't see any fish caught. Saw 4 or 5 people with fish, but they had been caught earlier. Talked to one guy who had been there since 5:30, he said the bite came on at about 6:30 and lasted for two hours. Lot of people were hooking up then, but had trouble keeping them on, he lost the one he had on. But that is when all the fish were caught, nothing later. But they were in there, I saw them rolling and surfacing.
After leaving Bush Point, we fished at Little North Beach in Deception Pass State Park. One guy said he had seen 5 fish caught there, the last one in late morning. A couple people (including a park ranger) said that the boats fishing just west of the bridge were slaying them like crazy that morning. We spent about an hour and a half fishing the incoming afternoon tide but did not get a bite, didn't see any fish caught. The general consensus was that it was still slow, the run was not really in yet.
