Caught wind of the limited season that was open in 7 South and decided to hit the last day. Got to the launch at 7 at Cornet Bay and it was foggy! Motored out to the south tip of Lopez and dropped four pots in the fog. Turns out it was a bad decision as thar be pirates and scallywags about. I marked all the pots on the GPS, but couldn't keep them all in sight due to the fog. All four disappeared. Currents shouldn't have been strong enough to pull them under, so it was very strange. Found my first and third pots several hundred feet away from their GPS locations in the direction of the current. Given the pots are at least 35 lbs each, they shouldn't move by themselves. We had a bungie cord on one pot which was also missing - all signs point to a thief. At least the thief left my pots. Other two pots were simply gone - someone stole the shrimp and the pots. Again, 35 lb pots don't walk away by themselves in low to moderate current. Down to 2 pots we managed to limit out for 4 people by 2:30 and ended up throwing back about another limit.

Note to self - don't set pots in the fog.

Note to thieves - karma's a bitch. Look forward to some bad luck.

I was out there as well and had my pots moving. One took an hour or so to locate. Also pulled a couple with only one or two shrimp . I though someone was pulling them also.

I noticed that the other folks out there stick pretty close to their pots. Once the fog lifted, didn't have any problems with mysteriously moving pots. The missing bungie cord over the trap door clinched it for me. Nothing should have caused that to go missing.
