Decided to fish for crabs from shore today instead of taking the boat out and do the old pot drop. Knew where some of the deep drop offs were with weed patch where they like to bed. Made it there at 8 this am (incoming tide) and was done an hour later. Was bringing them up 4 or 5 at a time, with a keeper here and there out of the bunch. Tagged my limit and called it a day.

Nice haul, do you mind letting me (us) know what you were using,...

Gear: Danielson "CH1" Crab Trap, 9' Heavy Action Rod w/ 30 Lb Test Braided, Quantum Optix 60 Reel
Bait: Chicken Drumstick - Zip Tied to the frame of the bait holder

*If this is new to you, my recommendation is the Everett Marine Park (W. Marine View Dr. & 10 St) right off the pier/ or Mukilteo pier next to the Ferry (lots of crabs but risky on the traffic & crowd), a "No No" if you're thinking about the Edmonds pier (lots of snag due to the artificial reefs and 99.9% red rocks!).
I wouldn't use anything expensive, 20+ lb test mono is fine, you'll definitely get plenty of exercise for sure bringing them in when you get a tug on your line.
To find a secret hole, during super low tides - you want to scout the beach for drop offs with weed patches (you will actually see the crabs in there about knee high).
