Tough day today. Gear down at Mukilteo ferry dock at 8AM and trolled South with the falling tide. First fish at 8:05--Oh Boy! Second hit at 8:30, but we rushed it a bit since there was a sea lion hot on it's tail. Fish took a couple wraps around the downrigger cable just before net splash, and it was gone. Trolled down to Shipwreck but didn't mark many fish or see much in the way of nets flying. Ran back up to Mukilteo for the last 1/2 hour with nothing to show.
My son/fishing buddy dragged himself out of bed with a miserable cold to keep me company so I was glad he got the action today: Green Grand Slam Bucktail 32" behind a Red Racer flasher at 75 ft. BTW, the fish that wrapped the downrigger cable took the green Grand Slam Bucktail with him when he left--which got the only hits of the day : ( We called it at 10:30 to get the "Walking Dead" home for more meds!
Checker only had 3 boats in by the time we got in: single guy--0 fish; single guy--2 fish; 2 guys--4 fish. I talked to two other guys: 0 fish and 1 fish. Saw very few boats coming in early today, so I think it was a bit tougher for most guys.
