I got up in anticipation of the same morning of catching salmon like yesterday. We started again at 7 am. Went out where we were before and nothing happened. I think Glen got a shaker but that was it. We went from surface (which didn’t get any) to 100 feet down. Then Cami started saying “Lets go west.” Glen didn’t want to. She became more insistent and I agreed with her saying we couldn’t do any worse. So we moved and stopped when she said. Lowered the gear and Glen gets one right away. Today I didn’t catch anything I could keep. But Glen did. He used a Cookies and Cream spoon and an Ace Hi Fly.. I used what I did the day before and only got shakers. But that move was key. Even though it wasn’t that far we got into fish.
I had to leave today and I wanted to get some bottom fish. So we went west of Sekiu to bottom fish without success. Then we went back east to Sekiu to clean the 3 salmon and get them on ice because it was sunny and I could check out of Olson’s.
We went back out and headed east of Sekiu and found some bottom fish. It was Glen’s day today. I caught fish with my jig but they were all lingcod and I couldn’t keep them. I caught a Red Irish Lord, too. I never caught one of those before. I am gong to make the same jig but in a smaller size so I can get some greenling next time. Glen caught me some bottom fish to take home and one of these days I am going to catch a ling I can keep.
