Two day report.
My Aunt was camping up at Kayak Point, and I normally avoid that place like the pluage due to the lack of parking. But we had a campgroud to park at and I could walk down to the water so I figured I would give it a shot.
I had low expectations about actually catching a fish, but i had a few 1/2 Joels Jigs troublemakers to get some casting distance . I started right at the point. Sat there for a minute and watched a fish jump fairly close, casting in front, twitch twitch, and fish on. One guy (im guessing he had been there a while) expressed his displeasure when i slid a chrome hen onto the beach.
Over the next 2 hours we caught and released 11 chrome bright humps because I didnt have a cooler, lost a silver at the beach, and got my middle daughter to finally reel in a fish bigger then a trout (kept). Finally my cooler showed up and i filled it with 4 super chrome fish in under 20 minutes! It was an awesome day!
Monday morning I had some friends that wanted to fish, so we hit the Sky super early and did alright catching and releasing some darker fish. But I wanted another piece of those chromers.
So we got back down to the beach around noon. Same thing again, seen a fish jump, casted in front, bam! Did this for the next hour pulling limits for all three of us. Now i understand why people like fishing down there! cant wait to try it for silvers.
