Fishing in hell

Livin' easy
Fishin' free
Looking to mark my card on a easy ride
Boat has gas
Just leave me be
Takin' the sites along with the ride
Got no reason
Got no rhyme
Ain't nothing I'd rather do
Down rigger going down
Party time as the beat was on
It's all a lie my friend will confirm it too
It was the fishing trip in hell
Fishing trip in hell
I'm on the fishing trip from hell

Went to Richmond (beach) No stops at all
Our speeds sorry can't tell
The new boats a floating
The boat cuts the water like a fin
Had so much fun it was almost sin
No hits to report
Oh hell
Payin' my dues
And all I have is a dogfish story to tell
Hey dude read about me
Really read me
It was the fishing trip in hell
Fishing trip in hell
I'm on the fishing trip in hell
Fishing trip in hell
But it's better than work

Launched out of Shilshole Bay... boats galore... some clueless launchers and then there is us.
Gas check, boat plug check, start the motor and I look at my friend and say... you did make sure all the spark plug wires are connected. He says "Do I look that stupid?" I said "Yes" He counters "Well I'm no stupid enough to do that 2 times in a row." Boat moves well compared the cramped other boat and we race towards Richmond Beach.
Started trolling on the fishing trip in hell near Richmond beach and yep more boats. Bait yes, boats yes, fish.... not a chance. We fished from noon til about 6:30 p.m. had maybe one real hit, lost gear to the bottom (oh thank you depth finder for lying), caught enough seaweed to feed an army.

We saw a few fish jump, a couple seals, some bait, but again not anybody taking nets out to gather a fish. Oh well there is always next time. In any case a fishing trip in hell is still better than work.

Good One !!! Gonefishin, If you can pull a report like this on a 6.5 hr., fish less trip, I can't wait to see your next report when you do catch your limit ! Keep the faith, It will happen. An employee at one of the bigger tackle stores told me the pinks are usually found shallow, the Coho are deeper, And the Kings are like ten feet above the bottom. Sounds like you covered it all & then some.Got a kick out of your report & better luck on your next adventure.

I forgot to add this part. We had our downriggers set between 85 feet and about 150 feet. and was for most part in 190 to 250 feet of water... except when we just past Carkeek and no matter where we were the water seemed to get shallower.

Of course I can't find the blasted article when I need it but it had to do with the depth for Pinks. Basically saying go down 10 feet every hour after sunrise because they like all the others will go deeper. Weird part for me was the dogfish I caught - I was at 110 and we were in 250, seemed like a long way to go up for the dogfish to me.

I feel you, that area had a lot of bait running thru it, and yes, plenty of boats, did not see many nets. Caught a small King and nephew caught a pink there yesterday, But with all that bait and those big blips on the graph, amazing not many caught. Boats galore,...
