Rob talked me into going out to sekiu for a few days to try a little salmon fishing and im glad he did because the fishing was great! The first few days we had our friend Ken and his son kenan come out and fish with us. Kenan had never fished for salmon before, he had a blast! We started out in front of the caves, picked up a couple small ones at 110 ft. 65 on the clip. We moved out to 200ft. and got some larger ones and some pinks. Picked up and headed east and got into some real nice Kings, pinks at 325ft. Ken got a nice one around 25lbs had to let a couple of BIG! natives go, sad!

Then my other son Danny came up for a day,he caught the biggest fish he has ever caught! probably 35+ and had a fin as big as my thumb! Bummer!!

Robby's friend Chris came up from Oregon to fish the last two days and we pretty much fished straight out in 175 to 225 and found some real nice Kings. Chris got a couple nice ones in the 20s got to keep them,He had a blast getting large fish.

I caught the Biggest fish I have ever landed probably 40+ only to see it had a fin and had to unbutton it, could have cried! We caught more wild kings then hatchery only reason I dident give it a 5 is we had to let so many fish go.

Every one had a great time!!

Nice Catch! Thanks for sharing. I'm really raring to go....we fish the lower Columbia for kings in September. There is however nothing like a "salt' fish for pure GO!!!

Super! How deep was the fish in 225-325 feet of water?

I posted a Sekiu report yesterday. Actually, I think I talked to you guys once, your boat looks familiar. We stayed at Curleys, moored at their dock, North River Seahawk with blue trim. Three of us got 12 Chinooks.... 6 keepers, 50% keepers. We also released a high fin over 30.
