Had a little time for a short outing on Saturday morning. Dropped into the Shilshole launch at 0700 with a friend met via washingtonlakes.com We headed out to troll in the general Carkeek Park area for pinks. Another sunny morning, but a good bit of chop on the water for the 14' Lund.
Fishing was pretty slow until the very end. Partner had a fish on for just a moment, but had a lite leader, and the unseen fish took his mini-hootchie home. Then there was a long patch of no-action. I fished Coyote spoons for awhile, actually in non Pink type colors. Nothing...
Went to a solid pink Brad's cut plug, again no action. Finally switched to a very Pink large Bucktail fly, trolled behind Green Pro-troll flasher.
Picked up a nice chrome Pink, at 5lbs. Then just as we pulled out rods out of the rigger to leave, I was reeling in, and had another Pink on. Boated said fish, (PInk) and it was a smaller fish 2lbs?
Fair amount of boats out there, did not see a lot of nets going in, but we kept our distance from people as well. The fish checker said the King fishing had been slow, and the Pinks were "Starting" to show at the Shilshole ramp.
