Arrived at the lake at about noon and fished until about 4 pm. Air temperature was about 88degrees, clear and light wind from the north. The surface water temperature was 72 degrees. The algae bloom that was heavy for the last couple of weeks is decreasing and the water is clearing up.
The fish finder readings showed plenty of fish and most of them were lying in about 15-30 ft. of water. Very few fish were sited in the shallower water under 10 ft.
I caught 5 rainbows ranging between 15-17 inches. They were hitting on a wine colored leech pattern. Some of the fish were actually taking the hovering damsel flies skimming across the water surface.
The warmer water hasn't effected the rainbow's stamina. After releasing them they swam away quickly. They are very healthy fish.
Several of the still fisherman were doing well also mostly from out of boats. There were very few shore fisherman, since much of the shoreline is closed in by weeds now.
