Arrived at 7:30 as it was just getting light and there were 4 cars already there so got excited to try and get some chum before work got too busy. My co-worker and I crossed the stream and wanted to fish the north cove once the tide moved out so worked the bank and were surprised that the fish were few and far between. By 10am a good crowd had arrived along with a couple of game wardens but had only seen 2 fish caught by a fly fisherman who let them go.
By noon my phone was blowing up with calls so had to beat it to work but did not see any other fish caught except for one guy using a buzz bomb and snagged a couple. Was surprised he didn't get a ticket but maybe he was fishing it right!
I think this fishery is probably better on an incoming tide which it when I have had my best luck. My buddy from Longview is bringing his boat and we are going to fish Hoodsport in the AM and may run down later in the day to launch in Silverdale and give it a shot with some herring under a bobber depending on how we do in Hoodsport.
From earlier this week here's how my eggs turned out! I love chum eggs and can't wait for Steelhead season to pick up or for the Humptulips to drop so I can go after some late running coho and chinook
