Decided to try the Coho thing one more time. Fishing had been slowing in Shilshole area. Some anglers were having luck at West Point. Others headed North from the Launch, destination Edmonds. Several reported commercial nest in the area. Some nest a mile long.

I stayed near the green can at Meadow point. I had fished the same place and time of day the day before too. Watched a guy land two fish in less than an hour, and leave for the ramp limited out. Man, I thought "what it would be like to be that guy!". I lost 4 and landed one before calling it a day. That fish was 9.llbs on a digital scale. Caught at 85ft at 10:20 in the am. On a Green flasher and white glow squid.

On this day. I was using the Green Hot Spot Flasher and white glow squid. Downrigger down at 7:45am. Line release at 70ft, first fish in the boat is 6lbs at 8:10.

Second release comes at 8:20 at 85ft, fish comes unstuck.

Third release comes at 8:45. This fish is landed and weight is over 9lbs.

Today, I was that guy! Pretty cool. And thought I had the fish location figured out. Well, for that reason I came back with the wife on Saturday. We fished from 7:30am to 11:00 with one release at 70ft, late in the am, near 11:00. This fish was landed, weight was 5.5lb. Caught near West point after trying near the Meadow point buoy first.

So, much for figuring the fish out. They are here one day, not the next. My season is officially over.

Up next is my annual Mid West Pheasant hunt with dear ol' Dad. What a season. Could hit the rivers when I get back, that is a option worth entertaining.

Don't count the salt out yet. Read a report this weekend that saiid seiku was on fire. Hopefully some are headed your way in the coming weeks.

You have got to be kiddin. Another batch of fish? I don't even know how to respond to that. I would think the size of the average fish, would increase as the Coho season wears on?
I have a smoker full of fish right now. This is the third time this season the "Big Chief" was stuffed with fillets. This load weights 18lbs. I have personally never gone through the quantity of wood chips/pellets, salt, brown sugar, and red wine, in one season........EVER!!

I can smell smoke on my clothes as I type this comment. Making my eyes water. .

That's awesome! Report read that Van Ripers weighed in a 35lb King (open as of oct 1st) and an amazingly huge Silver at 25lbs this last weekend!! Guys can't even make it out of the marina without hitting their limits. Red hot!!! Big derby this weekend too I guess. I'm trying to figure out how to skip out on work and get out there on wednesday. At the very least out to west point to see if they are here!! I'm thinking it's the heart of the b-run but I am not sure.

Be sure and leave a report if you make it out to West Point. What is a "B" run? I realize it is likely a late run in this case. But is a "B" run headed to a particular river? Or, why is the run called a "B" run? Very Interest-stink (hogans hero's if your familiar).

The b run is the later, larger run of fierce fighting silvers from what I have heard. Probably check at west point this weekend. Limited in the straight today out of port Angeles.
