Well, I just had to get myself on the board officially, as far as the Shilshole coho go.
My regular fishing partner, Mr. Pip, and I have been skunked in so many different situations lately that it felt good last night for it to finally come together.
We launched about 5:00 pm, shilshole. Went with one rod, green splatter back hootchie/green flasher. Other rod was pink needlefish/flasher. The needlefish was very consistant on picking up shakers. Nothing on the hootchie at all.
Finally I switched up to green flasher with a Silver Horde ACe high fly. We had 1.5 hours of nothing....
Then BAM, right when the beautiful orange sun went behind the olympics, I had a hard take down, fish was a 10lb Chinook. Released. Then within 5 minutes it was our first coho, 4 ish pounds. kept. Then two more take downs that came unbuttoned. All were on the Ace HIgh fly. soon it was close to dark, and we needed to hit to the launch.
Pretty fast and furious once it all happened. Glad to put some confidence back in myself, lol.

Awesome Quad!. I bet that Chinook took some pretty good runs! The Coho pretty much shake there head straight to the net, with some thrashing and occasional jumping thrown in. Unless the fish is free swimming, towing hooks, a leader and flasher behind. Now landing them that way is a challenge ! (If cornfused, see my report). How is the F.F. working out for you, out there?

FF is cool. Although I'm still discovering things about it. Realized that it has a special "Salt Water" mode... Ya, that was a strange story about the flasher... not sure I quite followed it, but you can tell me in person next time.
Fished from the beach before and after sunset tonight (Carkeek) beautiful setting. One small blackmouth, and some bottom fish. Ho's were jumping near shore.
