So since I missed the opening of lingcod season due to poor weather conditions was anxious to get out this morning to get another shot at these toothy fish. It was a bit choppy on the ride out to our favorite spot so tried jigging since it was too rough to try and get some sanddabs. Had numerous fish on with one in the net that was about 24" so let him go to get bigger. It is hard to keep them on with those barbless hooks on the jigs so finally decided to go catch some sanddabs and go after them with live bait. After getting about 10 in the ice chest we went back to our spot and within 15 minutes we had our limit! Mine was first pushing the ruler at about 29" and then we had a double so was fast and furious but a great morning! back to the launch by 10am. Have too much to do tomorrow but will try again on Friday~ will pass on Saturday when all the shrimpers will be out there for some tasty shrimp! good luck to those that go out!
